Clyde

Clyde is a survivor! He endured unimaginable conditions, facing extreme cold on a chain with scarce shelter and no regular meals. While others didn't make it, Clyde persevered. He has significant food insecurity due to his past starvation, and it will take time for him to trust that he will no longer go hungry. The Missouri Humane Society's investigative team was instrumental in helping him, and we were committed to taking in two of the adult dogs. Clyde was one of them and struggled to gain weight at the humane society, which is not uncommon for dogs who don't cope well with confinement and may exhibit stress-related behaviors, making weight gain difficult. We are a facility-based rescue and are working to help him gain weight, and we're also seeking a loving home or foster home for him.

Ongoing Health

Clyde is heartworm positive, and his treatment will begin once he has settled into our routine. He has only been with us for a few days.

Training & Support

Clyde has significant food guarding behaviors due to his past. He will need a home committed to helping him build trust and overcome these challenges.
