About Abigail D10847

Abigail D10847, affectionately known as "The Perfect" by her foster mom, arrived at a local shelter after a difficult start in life. She was initially shy but quickly blossomed, discovering the joy of friendship with other dogs. Abigail is a bundle of energy and personality, always prioritizing playtime. She's a unique multitasker, capable of chewing a toy and playing with a ball simultaneously, demonstrating impressive herding skills with any round object she encounters.

Her initial sensitivity with other dogs has transformed into enthusiastic play. She can be mouthy during wrestling and is relentless in inviting friends to play. A canine companion with a similar playful spirit would be ideal, though she can also adapt to a home without other pets. While she's learning to share her beloved toys, gradual introductions are recommended.

Abigail's most notable quirk is her passion for chewing through leashes and harnesses, making her unsuitable for tie-outs. She excels in a fenced yard and is a true adventurer, loving car rides and outings. However, her enthusiasm can sometimes lead to "shoplifting" attempts, so supervision is key. She's house-trained and crate-trained, though her occasional "choir practice" in her crate might not be ideal for homes with shared walls.

Ideal Home

Abigail thrives in a home that embraces playfulness, sociability, and energy. A friendly dog companion would be a bonus, but not a requirement. She'd be a fantastic partner for someone interested in dog sports. Due to her playful mouthiness and occasional lack of spatial awareness, older children may be a better fit.

Ongoing Health

Abigail is in good overall health and has no known ongoing medical conditions.

Training & Support

Abigail knows "sit," "shake," and "down." She can pull on leash and does best with a harness. She is working on not chewing leashes and harnesses, and reminders are sometimes needed regarding shoes being off-limits. Continued guidance on her playful mouthiness and spatial awareness will help her continue to grow.
