My name is Duke, and I’m a handsome shepherd mix who made my way to Buffalo Cares so I could find my forever family—maybe that’s you! I’m a pretty smart pup (if I do say so myself ). I already know “sit” and “lay down”... especially if you mention treats—did someone say treats?! I LOVE them and will do my very best to impress you. I’m doing awesome with potty training and learning that leashes mean fun adventures. At bedtime, I’m a good boy in my crate, and during the day I go in and out of it like a pro. I currently live with two male dogs and a bunch of kids (ages 4–12), and I absolutely soak up all the love and attention I can get. I do have a soft spot for the 4-year-old—she gives the best hugs and has the coziest lap ever! I’m working on fetch... I mean, I LOVE running after the ball, I’m just not totally convinced I should give it back yet . Toys are my favorite, and puzzle games are at the top of my list—I’m always up for a challenge, especially if there are tasty rewards involved! If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and smart companion who will keep you smiling, I might just be your guy. I can’t wait to meet you!

Duke is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested, de-wormed, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
Training & Support
Duke knows "sit" and "lay down" and is excelling at potty training and leash manners. He's working on fetch, but isn't quite ready to give the ball back yet! He enjoys puzzle toys and is motivated by treats.
