Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found as a puppy abandoned by the side of a busy road. Despite her rough start, she's now in a loving foster home and ready to find her forever family! Gina is a playful pup who loves to engage with her smaller foster siblings in games of tug-of-war. She enjoys collecting her toys and keeping herself entertained, and she's even learned to play fetch. Gina is also crate-trained and doing well with house training, with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with a family who will provide her with plenty of daily play and exercise. She would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) as she can be jumpy when excited and is still learning her size. Because she was attacked by other dogs in the past, she needs slow introductions to new dogs and will do best in a home that understands how to manage this. She is a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. Gina would likely do well with another dog to keep her company and help her burn off energy.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Gina is still in her "puppy velociraptor stage" and needs guidance on appropriate chewing. She prefers to eat treats alone. Her adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.
