Princess is a delightful 4-year-old spayed female terrier pittie mix with a zest for life! She's approximately 45-50 lbs and has a birthdate of November 14, 2021. Princess was rescued from a high-kill shelter after being returned for being too energetic – a trait that makes her incredibly fun-loving and happy! She's up-to-date on all her shots, is heartworm negative, and receives monthly prevention. She's also crate trained and house-trained. While she was initially a high-energy pup, she's settled down beautifully in her foster home, understanding safety and love. She adores car rides and squeaky toys. Princess knows her commands, but her excitement can lead to jumping for attention. With a gentle correction and a cue like "sit," she'll promptly sit for petting. She's an avid chewer and does best with appropriate outlets like Kongs and bully sticks, much like a puppy would need. She'll bark to communicate her needs, including when she needs to go potty or wants some love.
Ideal Home
Princess would thrive in an active home with older children who can handle her playful energy without being knocked over. She'd also be a great fit for an active couple or a single person who enjoys an energetic companion. A fenced yard is a must for Princess, as she is not off-leash trained without one and it is not suitable for an apartment. She can be the only dog or would do well with a canine friend who matches her enthusiasm and energy levels.
Ongoing Health
Princess is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
Training & Support
Princess knows commands such as sit, come, stay, off, and heel for leash walking. She takes treats very nicely. She is learning to sit before being petted to manage her excitement. As an avid chewer, she needs plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep her occupied. She will bark for attention and to communicate her need to go potty or for affection.
