Shake em up, shake ‘em up, shake ‘em up, SHAKE ‘EM! This duo is full of rescue flavor! Pepper and Paprika are two sweet ladies who were rescued by Maddie’s Dog Rescue after being owner-surrendered with two very young puppies named Oatmeal and Brownie. While we don’t know if everyone is related (or how!) – They have brought so much love to our office here in San Antonio.

Pepper and Paprika are shy, submissive girls who are adjusting quickly to the rescue life. Already, they are starting to show their personalities with wagging tail tips and gentle kisses. They have proven themselves to be little lap dogs, soaking up any attention they can get. And their small size makes their sweet nature all the better! Being adults, these mini mutts won’t be putting on any extra pounds.

One-year-old Pepper is a little more reserved from her experiences, but she is eager to trust. She needs an owner who can give her patience and kindness while she learns that humans are a safe space. Already, she shows interest in humans and other dogs–it won’t be long before she can show her true self.

These two are also affectionately known as Chiweenies, or Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes. These types of dogs are very popular due to their portable size, manageable energy level, and fun sense of humor. Friendly with a touch of independence, they make wonderful companions for people of all ages and lifestyles.
