Meet Gina! This sweet, one-year-old Belgian Malinois mix weighs 56lbs and is ready to find her forever home. Gina had a tough start, being found abandoned as a tiny puppy near a busy road. Thankfully, her foster family has given her a new lease on life, and now she's hoping to find a loving family of her own. Gina is a playful pup who loves her doggy friends, especially when playing tug-of-war. She's used to living with small dogs and large dogs, but can be a bit shy around new, bigger dogs due to a past negative experience. She'll do best with slow introductions to new canine companions. While she adores people, she hasn't been around children and can get a little jumpy when excited, so we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up). She's also a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home would be ideal. Gina is a toy enthusiast who loves to collect them and has learned to play fetch, but also enjoys entertaining herself. She's a smart girl who is house and crate trained (up to 8 hours) and walks well on a leash. She doesn't show signs of separation anxiety, but she does prefer to enjoy her treats alone. As she's still in her chewing phase, she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys.
Ideal Home
An active home with a family who understands how to raise a large, energetic pup. She would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10+) and a cat-free environment. Having another dog in the home to keep her company and help her burn off energy would be a plus.
Ongoing Health
Gina is a spayed female, approximately one year old.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. She may need some gentle guidance on appropriate chewing habits as she is still in her puppy phase.
