Buddy Edward is a middle-aged Shih Tzu with a bit of a belly, and we're working with him to shed those extra pounds! He's the happiest, and yes, fattest, little guy around, complete with a charming bulldog snort and a distinctive waddle. He came to us at 18 lbs, and while our vet says his bloodwork is great, his weight is a concern and obesity can lead to health problems. His foster family has him on a special diet with special kibble, feeding him just once a day to help him reach a healthier weight.
Buddy has curly white and tan fur. He previously had some bald spots due to skin infections, but they've grown back beautifully! As with many breeds, Buddy will require regular and extensive grooming, including frequent trips to the salon, in addition to exercise, to keep his coat healthy and looking its best.
Ideal Home
Buddy loves attention and enjoys nothing more than snuggling on a lap. He gets along well with cats, small dogs, and big dogs, and has been successfully fostered with them.
Ongoing Health
Buddy's weight is currently a health concern, and he is on a specialized diet to help him manage it. He is up to date on vaccines, has been dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention.
Training & Support
Buddy is already leash trained and potty trained, and he loves car rides and going on adventures!
