Prince Boy is a handsome fellow looking for his forever home! He's about 2 to 2 1/2 years old and weighs between 58 and 64 pounds. Prince came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He was at a high-kill shelter, facing euthanasia due to space and being heartworm positive. Luckily, he was saved and received much-needed treatment! He's no longer heartworm positive and had successful eye surgery to correct an entropion issue. He sailed through his heartworm treatment with no complications and is now a happy, healthy boy, up-to-date on all his shots.
Ideal Home
Prince would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can play and enjoy his medium energy level. He's not a good apartment dog. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, including medium, large, and small breeds, a canine companion is not a requirement for him. He'd be a wonderful addition to a family with children, a couple, or a single person, as long as he's included in daily adventures. He absolutely cannot be left outdoors on a tie-out or with an electric fence.
Ongoing Health
Prince is a heartworm survivor and has had successful surgery for entropion in his eye. He is fully recovered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Prince is crate-trained and potty-trained. He's treat and food motivated, but not food aggressive. He knows several commands, including "sit," "come," "heel" (for leash walking), and "gentle" or "nice" when taking treats. He used to hump other dogs, but since being neutered, this behavior has stopped, and he's now very playful with other dogs. He rides well in the car and enjoys walks.
