Houdini

Houdini is a 10-month-old, approximately 49 lb, neutered male Pit Bull Terrier / Cane Corso (Mastiff) mix with a sweet and gentle personality that shines through once he feels safe. He came to the shelter as a stray and can be shy and cautious around new people, dogs, and unfamiliar situations. Houdini prefers to observe from a distance and takes his time to learn that he is safe, making him a wonderful companion for a patient adopter. He enjoys pup cups, rope toys, independent play, and walks beautifully on a leash. Houdini has also had a car ride and settled in nicely once inside the vehicle.

Ideal Home

Houdini would thrive in a calm, predictable home where he can decompress at his own pace. A quieter household with patient adopters will give him the confidence he needs to truly blossom. With slow, controlled introductions, he may do well with another respectful dog, although he is currently shy and under-socialized around other dogs. His compatibility with cats and children is unknown.

Houdini has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Houdini walks beautifully on a leash. He is still learning to build confidence in new situations and around other dogs, so continued patience and positive reinforcement will be beneficial.
