Meet Griffon! This handsome 6-and-a-half-year-old, 46-pound boy is a smart and soulful companion looking for a quiet, structured life. Griffon is generally a low-to-medium energy dog who enjoys lounging on his dog bed, but he does get a burst of happy "maniac" energy when you first come home – he just loves his people! He's a well-behaved boy who knows many commands like Sit, Stay, Come, and No. Griffon is also e-collar trained (he responds well to the beep!), fully potty-trained, and content in his crate when you're away. He's a fantastic walking partner, walks well on leash, and is unfazed by passersby. Griffon is described as 90% sweet, super intelligent, and absolutely worth the effort for the right patient person.
Ideal Home
Griffon would thrive in a home that understands and can manage his specific sensitivities. He dislikes being physically moved or forcefully told to get off furniture. The best way to get him to move is to walk away and call him from out of sight, and he'll happily oblige! He needs a home without children and would prefer a rural setting with minimal visitors. A confident canine friend to show him the ropes would also help him settle in nicely.
Ongoing Health
Griffon is vetted and will be spayed and micro-chipped before going to his new home.
Training & Support
Griffon is e-collar trained and responds well to the sound. He knows many commands and is house-trained. His main need for support is patience and understanding regarding how to handle situations where he needs to be moved or asked to get off furniture.
