Maddie

Maddie is a 3.5-year-old, 58 lb female Retriever/Shepherd mix. She's a survivor who bravely underwent emergency surgery that saved her and some of her pups. Now that her puppies have all found their forever homes, Maddie is ready to start her own adventure! Her foster mom describes her as sweet and affectionate, enjoying gentle belly rubs, having her beautiful blonde coat brushed, and getting ear scratches. Maddie arrived mostly house-trained and absolutely loves her walks, making her an ideal companion for hikes, especially in a cooler climate. While she hasn't lived with children, she has met older children during her outings and has done very well. Maddie is a bit of a homebody and would be happiest as the only canine in the household, though she does seem to be okay with some dogs when she's out and about. She's also a champion couch potato and would be perfectly content with an adopter who is away during the day. Maddie adjusts to change easily, as proven by a successful sleepover in a different foster home while her foster family was on vacation. If you're seeking a low-maintenance companion, Maddie is your girl!

Ideal Home

Maddie would thrive in a home where she can be the only dog. She would also be comfortable in a home where adopters are away during the day.

Ongoing Health

Maddie survived emergency surgery, but is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Her adoption donation includes all core vaccinations (DHPP, rabies), spay/neuter, and microchip.

Training & Support

Maddie is reported to be mostly house-trained and enjoys walks.
