I'm Xyla, a 52-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix with a sweet heart and a sensitive soul. I can feel pretty anxious and on edge, especially in new environments, so I may pace around or look for ways to escape when I'm feeling overwhelmed. Fast approaches can make me nervous, and if I feel cornered, I'll usually duck away to create some space for myself. Even though I can be cautious at first, I'm truly a very sweet girl, and once I start to feel safe and comfortable, I'll even give gentle kisses to the people I trust. I just need patience, understanding, and the chance to move at my own pace. Because I'm an active and intelligent breed mix, I need a home that can keep both my body and mind engaged. A calm, quieter home would help me settle in and decompress at first, while continued confidence building and gentle socialization will help me blossom over time. I may take a little while to fully bond with my person, but once I do, I know I'll be an incredibly loyal companion. I'd love activities like hiking, adventures, and puzzle toys to keep my smart mind busy and give me healthy outlets for my energy. If you're looking for an active adventure buddy and have the patience to help a shy girl grow in confidence, I just might be the perfect match for you.
