Meet Rocket, a handsome 3-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit mix who's ready to zoom into your heart! This 65 lb bundle of muscle and soft ears has a remarkable story of resilience. Found injured and alone on the side of a highway in Houston, Rocket's sweet nature shone through as he allowed rescuers to help him. After weeks of dedicated veterinary care, he's fully healed, heartworm-negative, and eager to share his gratitude and boundless affection with a loving family.

Ideal Home

Rocket thrives on affection and would love a family that enjoys showering him with pets and scratches. He's been gentle and patient with young children in his foster home, so he'd likely do well in a busy household. He's also dog-friendly and would enjoy a canine companion or being the cherished sole pet. Rocket has a moderate energy level; he enjoys playtime and walks but is also content to relax and nap after some activity. He is a champion chewer, so a home with plenty of tough toys to keep him occupied is a must!

Ongoing Health

Rocket is a healthy boy! He has fully recovered from his past injuries and is heartworm-negative. He is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

This smart cookie is a dream to train! Rocket is already house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic and advanced obedience commands, including sit, down, stay, come, and heel. He's also trained with an e-collar, though he rarely needs it as he walks beautifully on a leash. His only notable "vice" is his love for chewing, but he's been trained to focus his efforts on toys, especially durable ones.
