About KING

King is a 6-8 year old, energetic, playful, and sweet lab mix with a fun, fluffy tail! He's a solid "10" on a scale of 1-10 for energy and loves to run and be active. Despite his zest for life, King is also quiet and gentle, making him a well-rounded companion. He's friendly with people, kids, and other dogs, though he hasn't been exposed to cats. King is fairly self-sufficient and not high-maintenance, showing good common sense and following directions well, especially when it comes to crating or being quiet. He's not a big barker, but will alert you to anything unusual. King has a good appetite but doesn't have a high food or prey drive. He's crate and house-trained, and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He's also not bothered by storms or separation. While he's generally well-behaved, he did chew a plastic water bowl, so metal ones are recommended. King rides well in the car, enjoying the view out the window, and is happy to wear a safety harness if preferred. He loves his walks and is a good leash walker. After a day of activity and enrichment, King is ready to relax and chill.

Ideal Home

King would thrive in an active home that can provide him with regular activity and enrichment. He'd love a family committed to showing him a great life.

Ongoing Health

King was found as a stray, hit by a car, and has physical scars from the incident. However, these scars do not impact his ability to live a full and active life.

Training & Support

King is crate and house-trained and communicates his need to go outside. He is not a big barker but will alert to unusual sounds. A metal water bowl is recommended due to a past incident with a plastic one.
