Hi, I'm Vanilla, but you can also call me Penny! I'm a sweet and goofy 2-year-old girl, weighing about 35 pounds. My foster mom says I'm a little treat who will add a pop of sunshine to your day! I love to sit and "chirp" at my foster mom until I get pets, and I'm not afraid to nudge her hand to remind her I need more attention. Belly rubs are my absolute favorite, and I enjoy snuggling up with a cozy blanket. I'm also quite the interior decorator, rearranging blankets to my liking and sometimes burrowing in for a nap or building a blanket throne in a sunny spot.
My journey to this sweet life wasn't easy. I was found in a ditch with a broken pelvis and some BBs in my hindquarters. My pelvis is still healing, so long hikes and runs are out for now, but that's perfectly fine with me! I'm happy with a good snuggle session on the couch. My teeth also had a rough time, but I'm doing great with what I have left and my enthusiasm for snackies is still as strong as ever – I just drool a little extra and my tongue might be a bit floppier than you'd expect!
Ideal Home
I'm looking for my forever family and couch! I get along with other dogs, but I prefer not to be crowded. I have a large foster brother who tries to play with me, and while I'm still warming up to him and don't appreciate rough play, he's good about respecting my boundaries. I do not get along with cats, as I like to chase them too much.
Ongoing Health
I am still healing from a broken pelvis and have BBs in my hindquarters. I will need to avoid strenuous activity like long hikes and runs. All of my teeth were broken, and I only have my top canines and molars remaining.
Training & Support
I may mark in new homes initially, but this usually stops within a day or two. I haven't had any accidents since the initial settling-in period.
