Meet Francis!

Francis is a handsome, approximately 4-year-old, neutered male Chow Chow. He came to us after a difficult past, having endured severe neglect that required intervention from Animal Control. For a long time, Francis was denied basic comforts and consistency. Despite this hardship, he has maintained a remarkably gentle and sweet nature. He approaches new people with friendliness and affection, and in neutral environments like vet offices and pet stores, he has shown calmness and a lack of reactivity towards other dogs. Francis is also a well-behaved traveler, tolerating baths and car rides with ease, and exhibiting polite behavior in public. In his foster home, he demonstrates good habits by keeping his sleeping area clean. Francis is intelligent, eager to please, and food-motivated, which will be a great asset in his training. He walks fairly well on leash and comes when called. His foster, an experienced dog caregiver, describes him as the sweetest dog she has ever fostered, which speaks volumes about his character given his history. Francis has overcome so much and is now ready for a loving, stable home where he can finally feel safe and cherished.
