Vanna

Meet Vanna! This approximately 4-year-old, spayed German Shepherd mix is a true "velcro dog" with a heart as big as her personality. Vanna is playful, affectionate, and absolutely loves to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing at home or out exploring, she's happiest when she's with her favorite humans. She enjoys a good game of fetch and is a great car companion, making her ready for any adventure you have in mind. At home, she's trustworthy and doesn't mind having the run of the place, as her main goal is just to be near you.

Ideal Home

Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and companionship. She's best suited as the only dog in the household, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resource-guarding opportunities. She is not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash, so a home committed to continued leash training and management is ideal. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but warms up to be friendly. While she hasn't been around children, she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. Like many dogs who have experienced trauma, she is actively working through some challenges.

Training & Support

Vanna is still polishing up her potty training, so occasional accidents may happen. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, and will need continued support with leash manners. She is crate trained and ready to continue learning with patience and consistency.

Transporation

Vanna is currently located with her foster family. Transports run every few weeks and she will be on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
