Meet Malouk, a distinguished 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a gentle soul ready to offer quiet companionship. He arrived with us after experiencing a profound loss and a period where he wasn't receiving the dedicated care he deserved. Now, Malouk is seeking a forever home where he can be cherished and doted upon, enjoying the safe and loving life he truly merits.

This sweet senior gentleman navigates the world with remarkable resilience, despite being blind. He still finds joy in the simple pleasures – leisurely walks, cozy naps, and an abundance of treats! Occasionally, a playful spirit emerges, reminding us of his enduring zest for life.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel secure and settled. He would be perfectly content as an only pet, but he also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his need for gentle interactions, especially since he can startle easily due to his blindness. He has a soft spot for children and is incredibly friendly with people, making him a wonderful presence for a family.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is currently on calming medication to help manage some anxiety associated with his blindness. His neuter surgery was recently completed.

Training & Support

While Malouk is potty trained, he may occasionally mark indoors. Belly bands have proven to be an effective and simple solution. He will benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull, particularly when excited or feeling uncertain. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while he is alone.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas. He is available for local or out-of-state adoptions, and we coordinate safe transport. Video meet-and-greets are available to ensure a perfect match.
