Trix is an 8-month-old, spayed female Pitbull mix weighing around 35 pounds. She's a shy girl with the sweetest, smartest soul, who was surrendered to a shelter with her brother. While her brother has found his family, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she has never shown any reactivity; when unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. Trix is gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant. She picks things up quickly and is very smart, figuring out a doggy door within a couple of days. With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable and may even surprise you by playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, or eventually choosing to curl up on the couch or sleep in bed with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, both because she's still a puppy and because building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and will require patience, compassion, and commitment. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building, as she does well with other dogs after proper acclimation and would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around kids and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown. She will need a family willing to invest in her and help her find her courage.
