Jonas

Little Jonas has been "home" for three days. He is an American Eskimo without the traits of the breed. He is a slow-moving pup; I have not heard him whine, growl, or bark. He walked into a home with five dogs and seemed to just fit in. Like the other dogs in the house, he is very quiet; this may change as he becomes more comfortable.

He visited the groomer, and she said that he never made a sound throughout the process. He appears to be in a quiet zone, and at first I thought he may have a neurological problem. I'm observing him closely to see how he will be as he adjusts. He has started following me around. He is excellent in the crate and quiet through the night. We are working on housebreaking. Jonas is excellent in the car; he sits quietly in place and doesn't move around.

He is apprehensive about being petted, and if there is a hand over his head, he cowers and backs away, again with no sound. I pet him under his chin. He is so quiet that I have to be careful backing up so I don't step on or fall over him. He does walk with a limp, so I walk him on leash down the stairs to the backyard. His hearing is good, and he appears to have good vision. He has a gentle mouth and no food aggression. He is as sweet as he appears to be and has gentle eyes. I thought that he would have an easy introduction with my dogs, and it was. My only concern is his "within himself" presentation and limp.
