Elwood is a dog with a big personality and a lot of potential, but he needs the right support to help him become the best version of himself. With the people he knows and trusts, Elwood is social, affectionate, and enjoys attention. He loves being petted and will happily soak up affection from his favorite people. During his evaluation, he showed that he can be friendly and curious when meeting new people, especially when introductions are handled thoughtfully and at his pace.

Training & Support

Elwood's biggest challenge is resource guarding, particularly around food. During his behavior assessment, he displayed concerning guarding behaviors when approached while eating. Because of this, he will require structured behavior modification and experienced handlers who understand canine behavior and positive training techniques. With patience, structure, and the right behavioral support, we believe he can make meaningful progress toward becoming a wonderful companion.
