This sweet, four-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix is a true gem with a sleek black coat and bright white accents. Weighing in at 52 pounds, Dani is a medium-sized girl who exudes quiet strength and an enormous capacity for love. Her journey began on the streets of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she faced significant medical challenges as a young pup. Thanks to dedicated care, she not only recovered but blossomed into the deeply affectionate and loyal companion she is today. Her paws bear small scars, gentle reminders of her past, but her spirit is pure warmth.

Dani is an exceptionally loving companion who forms deep emotional bonds with her people. She's a true bed-sleeper, happily curling up close and sometimes even purring when she's content. You'll find her often following you from room to room, just wanting to be near. She's wonderfully intuitive and has a knack for offering comfort, often with soft licks when she senses you might be feeling down. She enjoys tugging ropes, peaceful walks, and knows commands like sit, stay, wait, and come. Having worked with a humane trainer using positive reinforcement, she thrives on structure and clear guidance. Dani is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She's also respectful in the home and doesn't engage in destructive behaviors like chewing.

Ideal Home

Dani needs to be the only pet in her home due to pronounced fear-based reactivity toward other dogs. She can take some time to warm up to new situations and people, and may initially be wary of some new men. Thoughtful, safe introductions are key to helping her relax and settle in. She would thrive in a home with an experienced, confident pet parent who can provide a calm, caring environment with routine, ideally in a quieter setting with a fenced yard.

Dani is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She has small scars on her paws from her early life, which are purely cosmetic.

Training & Support

Dani has been trained extensively with a humane trainer using positive reinforcement and responds well to structure and clear guidance. She is house-trained and respectful in the home. While she generally warms up to new people with proper introductions, she may bark at unexpected visitors or service calls if there isn't time for a thoughtful introduction.
