Stewart

Meet Stewart! This charming little guy was found as a stray and, despite efforts, no owner came forward. Now, he's ready to find his forever family! Stewart has a big personality and an even bigger heart, quickly adapting to home life in his foster home with Debbie and her two resident dogs. He integrated into the pack with ease and has also shown a gentle curiosity towards the resident cat, with no interest in chasing.

Stewart is a confident dog with a lot of charm. He has moments of playful energy that quickly settle into a calm, relaxed demeanor. He's also an excellent watchdog, ready to announce visitors or any unusual sounds. Once he's made his announcement, he's happy to return to his own activities. Underneath his confident exterior is an incredibly sweet and cuddly companion who melts into your arms, making him the cutest little teddy bear who just wants to be held.

Ideal Home

Stewart would be happy as an only dog or with another friendly pup. He has also shown he does well with cats.

Ongoing Health

Stewart is up-to-date on shots, neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Stewart is house-trained and crate-trained. He used to mark occasionally but has improved considerably since being neutered. He reliably asks to go outside and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. He is a pleasure to walk on leash and has shown no leash reactivity. When visitors arrive, he may bark to announce them but warms up quickly and soaks up attention. His barking is generally for alerting his family to activity rather than concern about strangers.

Stewart is currently located in Charlotte, NC. He will be coming to the DC metro area in early July.
