Jericho

Hi, I’m Jericho—a 3-year-old, 54-pound tan pit bull with a big heart, a quiet nature, and a whole lot of potential in the right hands. I’m gentle in spirit, and I don’t bark at all. I’m the kind of dog who will even put myself to bed if you leave my kennel door open.

Ideal Home

I’m great with children, but only older ones—kids 5 and up. Small children and toddlers scare me, and when I’m afraid, I could react. I’m also good with other dogs. I have been cat tested, and I’m a little too curious for comfort, so a home with cats is not recommended. I am not a dog for a first-time dog owner. I need an adopter with real dog experience—someone confident, consistent, and committed.

Ongoing Health

I am neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

I’m crate trained. I have completed a four-week training program, and my foster has continued working closely with my trainer. I’ve learned a lot, but I still need someone who knows what they’re doing. I can be pushy, mouthy, and I’ll jump up on you if you let me. I don’t have door manners yet, and I’ll try to shove my way through if I’m excited. But with structure, I respond beautifully. I’m smart, eager, and I thrive when someone shows me what to do. I love exercise—walks, hikes, puzzle toys, anything that works my brain and body. I’m also a power chewer, so I’ll need plenty of sturdy toys. Nylabones are my absolute favorite.

I am currently in Waterloo, SC, but I can be transported out of state for the right home. Please note, there is a transport fee.
