Hello, my name is Wink! I'm a handsome and affectionate 70-pound pup, just under a year old, with a heart as big as my paws. My journey to find my forever home has been quite an adventure. I was surrendered to a busy shelter in San Antonio, Texas, and through no fault of my own, my time was running out. I tried my best to be a good boy, keeping my kennel clean and greeting everyone with a wagging tail, but I was overlooked. Perhaps it was my size, or my age, or my right eye. I have a condition called microphthalmia, which means my right eye is smaller and doesn't see well. It doesn't cause me pain, doesn't need removal, and it certainly doesn't slow me down! A wonderful rescue organization called Project Hope Animal Rescue saw my potential and saved me, bringing me over 1,200 miles north to find my perfect match.
Ideal Home
I'd thrive in an active home with plenty of room to play and grow. A fenced yard is a must for me! I love being part of the family and want to be included in all your daily adventures, whether we're exploring outdoors or just relaxing together.
Ongoing Health
I have a condition called microphthalmia in my right eye, which means it's smaller and has limited vision. The vet has confirmed it doesn't cause me pain and doesn't require removal.
Training & Support
I'm an eager learner who is very treat-motivated and loves to please! I'm already getting the hang of "sit" and know how to "shake." I walk well on a leash and am ready to continue learning with patience and positive guidance. I am also working on crate training.
