MEET SMOKEY

Smokey's journey began on the tough streets of Harris County, Texas, where survival was a daily challenge. When Animal Control found him, he might have thought his luck was finally changing. However, he was taken to a crowded, high-kill shelter where his time was running out rapidly. We stepped in just minutes before he would have been euthanized, saving an incredible soul.

It was evident that Smokey had spent most of his life outdoors, without proper shelter or care. This led to him contracting heartworms, but thankfully, heartworms are treatable. As soon as he was safe with us, we began his treatment.

Despite his past hardships, Smokey is a gentle and loving boy. At approximately four years old, he has a lifetime of love and affection to give. His foster family describes him as polite, calm, and exceptionally well-behaved indoors, with no accidents or complaints – just gratitude and sweetness. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs! Smokey's resilience is a testament to his beautiful spirit, and he's now ready for a forever family to write the next, happiest chapter of his story.

Ongoing Health

Smokey has been diagnosed with and is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms.

Training & Support

Smokey is already well-behaved indoors, with no known accidents or behavioral issues. He is also good with other dogs.
