About Waylon
Waylon is a 65 lb, neutered male Staffie mix, a little over a year old, and he's truly one of the biggest, goofiest, most lovable derps you'll ever meet! He's the kind of dog who doesn't quite realize he's a large dog and carries himself with the carefree enthusiasm of a much smaller pup. His personality is a fun mix of playful, curious, silly, and affectionate in his own quirky way. While he's not overly clingy, he enjoys being around his people and happily bounces through life with a joyful, slightly goofy energy that makes him incredibly endearing.
One of Waylon's greatest loves in life is tennis balls. He absolutely worships them and could happily spend hours chasing, carrying, or showing off his prized ball. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys playtime and activity, making him a great match for an active home that can help him burn off some of that playful enthusiasm. Once he's had the chance to get some energy out, he settles nicely and becomes a much calmer companion.
Waylon does well with other dogs and enjoys high-energy play with canine friends his size. He has primarily interacted with dogs over 50 pounds and generally reads play cues well, recognizing when other dogs are ready to take a break most of the time. When he spots other dogs on leash, he may give a curious stare or a little boof, but he is generally friendly and interested in meeting them. He doesn't require another dog in the home but would certainly enjoy having a playful sibling.
He has been around children of all ages and has done well with them, though due to his size and playful nature, an active home that understands big, goofy dogs will likely be the best fit. Waylon is house-trained and does beautifully in his crate, typically sleeping through the night. He walks well on leash once he's burned off a little energy, though he can zig-zag a bit when he's feeling extra curious about the world around him.
Waylon rides well in the car and has no issues with food, toys, or resource guarding. He's a friendly guy with strangers, though he may greet new people with a curious little boof before warming up. Like many dogs, storms and thunder can make him a little nervous, but CBD chews help him relax during those moments.
Waylon would thrive in a home that appreciates his goofy personality, enjoys playtime and activity, and is ready for a big-hearted, slightly derpy companion. If you're looking for a fun-loving dog with a huge personality and an even bigger love for tennis balls, Waylon might just be your perfect match.
