Meet Francis "Ford" Coppola! This sweet gentleman has been patiently waiting for his big break, and we think it's finally his time for a standing ovation. Francis is a shy but loving companion, about 8 years old and weighing around 12 pounds. He came to us from a hoarding situation in September 2021 and has spent most of his time with a wonderful foster family, learning what a safe and predictable life looks like. Once he trusts you, he's a gentle soul who simply wants a quiet place to call his own. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would flourish in a calm environment where he can continue to build his confidence at his own pace.

Ideal Home

Francis would thrive in a patient and understanding home. He's not the dog to greet visitors at the door; instead, he's the quiet, loving companion who settles in beside you once he feels secure. He would likely do best in a quieter household, as busy and loud environments might be too overwhelming for him.

Ongoing Health

Francis is a healthy boy who has had a clean bill of health since joining our rescue.

Training & Support

Due to his past, Francis is shy with new people and takes time to build trust. He needs a very patient family who understands he requires time to warm up. He can be playful and a wonderful couch companion, but it all happens after he's had time to feel comfortable. He gets along well with other dogs, but proper introductions are essential. We're unsure how he'd do as an only dog, but he might be content if his new human is home most of the time and provides plenty of interaction.
