Murphy

Murphy is a charming about 5-year-old Old English Sheepdog who is ready to find his forever home. He's a retired AKC Champion with a sweet, goofy personality that's characteristic of his breed. Murphy is a very intelligent and eager-to-learn boy who forms strong bonds with his family. He enjoys car rides, walks, and knows basic commands like "paw" and "high five." He's also a pro at grooming and is a great guardian of his home and family.

Ideal Home

Murphy would thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who is familiar with herding breeds and can provide structure, leadership, and regular engagement. He would do best in an adult-only home or a home with older, dog-savvy children. While he generally gets along with other dogs, he would be happiest as an only dog or with confident, medium to large breed female dogs. Due to his prey/herding drive, Murphy is not a good fit for a home with small animals.

Ongoing Health

Murphy has seasonal and food allergies, for which his diet has been adjusted and he receives antihistamines. His skin and coat are in great shape, and test results are available. He is neutered and up-to-date on veterinary care.

Training & Support

Murphy is crate trained, house-trained, and can free roam in the home. He is highly trainable and eager to please. While he can be reactive towards other dogs in overstimulating situations, he has never shown reactivity towards people.
