Meet Nola! This gorgeous Bluetick Coonhound is a true testament to resilience. For weeks, Nola bravely navigated the beaches of Bucerias on her own, relying on the kindness of strangers for sustenance. As her condition worsened, our volunteers dedicated themselves to finding her. One morning, their perseverance paid off when they discovered her resting on the sand. She arrived with us underweight, anemic, and battling Ehrlichia, and was later diagnosed with TVT, a treatable form of cancer. After a course of antibiotics, vaccinations, and chemotherapy, our brave Nola is now healthy, healed, and ready to find her forever family.
Ideal Home
Nola would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of love and attention. As a typical Coonhound, she has a distinct voice and will bay and howl.
Ongoing Health
Nola has been fully vetted and treated for Ehrlichia and TVT. She is now healthy and ready for her new life.
Training & Support
Nola is great on the leash and enjoys her walks. She is a sweet, resilient, and grateful dog who will shower her family with affection.

Transportation
Nola is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet your new pup at the airport to welcome them home. During the summer months, it can be challenging to secure Canadian flight angels. In such cases, dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable. We have successfully completed many adoptions during the summer with volunteers helping to bring dogs to their adopters at the border, which remains a great option to keep adoptions moving forward.
