Navajo, a 6.5-year-old neutered male Pitbull mix weighing around 75 pounds, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup looking for his forever home. He's the perfect companion for both daily adventures and cozy evenings. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, especially in smaller groups, and is generally good at reading social cues, though he may sometimes need a gentle reminder if he gets too excited. He's polite on leash, even when passing other dogs or squirrels, though he might pull a bit at the very beginning of a walk when he's eager.
Navajo is fully house-trained and crate-trained (he happily naps in his crate with the door open and doesn't need to be crated when you're away). He shows no signs of separation anxiety and is calm and easy to live with. He's friendly with strangers and has done well around children. He's an excellent car rider and a favorite at the vet. He also has no issues with stairs and has a penchant for finding cozy and unusual napping spots, like laundry baskets or bathtubs! Navajo adores toys and loves to greet his people while proudly carrying his favorite stuffed animal. He is also a champion cuddler. He has shown no resource guarding with food, treats, toys, or people.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and lots of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle but consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He would do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. Navajo would do best in a cat-free home as he has shown a strong prey drive and fixation toward cats.
Ongoing Health
Navajo needed dental work upon arrival at his foster home, and several damaged teeth, including his canines, were removed. His remaining teeth are healthy, and he happily chews his favorite bones.
Training & Support
Navajo is well-behaved on leash and with other dogs, showing good progress in daycare. He is house-trained and crate-trained.
