Chewy is a sweet, gentle soul who has been patiently waiting for over 4 years for his forever home. His journey hasn't been easy, and he carries the weight of past disappointments, making him fearful of loud noises, sudden movements, and the overwhelming world outside his kennel. He needs a loving person who will approach him with immense patience, gentleness, and understanding. Chewy is not the dog who will greet you with an excited wag; instead, he's the dog who will quietly inch closer, lean into your touch when he feels safe, and eventually, offer his whole heart. He asks for little more than a safe place and a loving human. Please don't overlook this beautiful boy who has already been through so much.

Ideal Home

Chewy needs a home that understands trauma and the time it takes to build trust. He needs patience and gentleness above all else. He is not suitable for homes with children under 8.

Chewy is described as shy and slow to adjust. He is not house-trained. He will need a dedicated adopter committed to helping him build confidence and learn to trust.
