After spending 206 days in the shelter as of 06/13/26, he's now one of our Diamond Dogs, and his adoption fee has been reduced to just $75. Rupert's story started with heartbreak- he was found by Rockwall Adoptions staff after being dumped over the front gate overnight. Despite that, he has remained incredibly loving, resilient, and eager to trust again. This handsome boy is friendly, expressive, and loves being around people. He's smart, attentive, and eager to learn, making him a wonderful companion for a family willing to continue building his confidence and routine. Rupert has a playful side and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those who can match his energy. He tends to do best with female dogs or non-dominant companions- he's truly a ladies' man- and a meet and greet is recommended to ensure a good fit. Rupert does not do dominant males of any kind. Rupert is still young and would thrive in a home that can provide structure, activity, and companionship. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
