Aki

Aki is a handsome 9-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix who came to us when his previous owner could no longer keep him. He's a very smart boy with a GSD personality, which means he's friendly, but he prefers that you let him approach you on his own terms. If you sit down and allow him to come to you, he's very happy to receive affection and interaction! Aki is not a fan of other dogs; he tends to try and dominate them, and he doesn't appreciate it when they correct him for it. For this reason, he would do best as the only dog in his new home. He does respond well to gentle corrections from people, and his manners are generally good. He's a bright dog who can learn whatever his new family wants to teach him.

Ideal Home

Aki would thrive in a home where he can make the first move when it comes to interaction. He would do best in a home with no other dogs, as he is not comfortable with them.

Aki is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Aki is a smart dog and eager to please. He can be taught new things, but he will do best in a home that is patient and allows him to approach people on his own terms. He is not comfortable with being crowded or forced into interaction.

Aki is located at the Humane Society/SPCA of Nelson County at 29 Stagebridge Rd, Lovingston, VA 22922. We are open daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
