Meet Jackson!
Jackson is a loving, goofy, affectionate boy who thinks he's a lap dog despite being around 57 pounds! He absolutely loves his people and happily soaks up couch time, snuggles, and affection. While he loves being close to his people, he can also relax comfortably and settle in his own space. Jackson has made wonderful progress in foster care. He sleeps quietly through the night with no issues, has gone nearly two months without accidents on a consistent routine, and has worked hard on daytime crate training. He now settles comfortably for up to 4 hours at a time and continues gaining confidence as his routine grows. Jackson loves walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, and chasing his favorite toys. He has a silly, energetic side, enjoys rough-and-rowdy play, and has a big personality to match his big heart. Jackson is a loving, goofy, loyal companion who will absolutely steal your heart. He's looking for a family willing to continue guiding him and helping him build confidence. In return, he'll give you endless love, laughs, snuggles, and devotion.
Ideal Home
Jackson may do best as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. He may also be able to live with the right calm, easygoing, emotionally steady canine companion after slow, thoughtful introductions. Because Jackson gets excited quickly and has a big personality, successful dog relationships will depend on a good match and structure. Jackson has spent time around cats in foster care and has done well with slow, supervised introductions. Because he can become very excited and has a strong interest in squirrels and birds, thoughtful introductions and continued management would be important in a home with cats.
Ongoing Health

Training & Support
Jackson gets very excited around people, squirrels, and birds and is continuing to work on manners and impulse control. He is a very sensitive boy with big feelings and thrives with calm greetings, positive guidance, and predictable routines. In highly emotional or very exciting situations, Jackson can become overwhelmed and may show sensitive, submissive behaviors like rolling onto his back or having occasional stress-related accidents. He gains confidence quickly once he feels safe and understands expectations.
