Canelo

Canelo is a handsome 6-year-old, 45-pound Chow with a personality that keeps life interesting! He's the perfect blend of laid-back companion and backyard explorer. Canelo loves to lounge near his favorite people, keep watch over his territory, and investigate any squirrel that dares to enter his domain. He's not one for toys or fetch, but he does have a unique way of "chirping" at squirrels, which is sure to bring a smile to your face. When he gets the zoomies, he'll playfully swat you with a paw before running off, as if it's the funniest game in the world. At night, he loves to be close and enjoy some physical contact while sleeping.

Ideal Home

Canelo has a strong prey drive, so a home without cats or small animals is a must. He is currently working on resource guarding around food with other dogs and needs to be fed separately. He has no history of bites, fights, or aggression.

Ongoing Health

Canelo underwent bilateral entropion surgery in April 2025. He is also heartworm positive, but his treatment is fully covered by Wags.
