Monte Cristo may have a fancy name but this little guy is all about the simple things: love, attention, and finding a family of his own. This adorable 6-year-old, 18-pound boy was found as a stray on the streets of South LA. While he was out on his own, he suffered a severe eye injury that unfortunately led to the removal of one eye. His remaining eye does not have vision either, meaning Monte Cristo is completely blind. But Monte Cristo is proof that a little extra care goes a long way! He is curious, brave, peppy, and surprisingly good at navigating the world around him. He uses his other senses to explore, learn his surroundings, and keep up with everything happening around him. He doesn't let being blind stop him from enjoying life; he is still a playful, affectionate dog who wants to be involved. Monte Cristo absolutely loves people and thrives on human attention. He loves hearing your voice, getting pets, and being close to his humans. Once you're down on his level, he is ready to play, do zoomies, give kisses, and remind you that he's very deserving of all the affection! He also does well with other dogs, especially mellow friends who will nap with him after he's done romping around all day! Monte Cristo has already fought through a lot, now he's ready for the best part of his journey: a forever home where he can finally relax and be loved!
