Eddie is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive young Labrador mix, around 1.5 years old and weighing approximately 37 lbs. He was found near his home in Saltillo, Mexico, along with his sister, who sadly passed away. Eddie was rescued to prevent him from returning to life on the streets. He is a bit nervous and shy, especially with physical contact, and may keep his distance at first, but with patience and kindness, he opens up at his own pace. Eddie enjoys walks, is playful, obedient, and affectionate, offering sweet kisses once he feels safe. He gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women. Eddie is sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder, so he would do best in a calm and understanding environment.
Ideal Home
Eddie will thrive in a home that understands shy dogs and is willing to give him the time and space he needs to build trust. He needs a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. A family with a genuine intention to rescue and an open conscience about the needs of street animals, along with patience and tolerance for rescued puppies, is essential. Experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly recommended.
Ongoing Health
Eddie is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. He receives monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He has a spay/neuter certificate and a health certificate.
Training & Support
Eddie is not house-trained. Potential adopters should understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt. Patience, understanding, a safe and loving environment, and establishing a routine are crucial for building trust and a strong bond.
