He knows basic commands like sit, come, whistle recall, and shake, and he thrives with positive reinforcement and treats. Piper, a gentle 12-year-old Hound mix (turning 13 in May) weighing 68 pounds, is the calm and steady presence of the duo. He's easygoing and friendly with everyone, bringing a peaceful aura wherever he goes. Together, they offer a comforting companionship that has seen them through thick and thin.
Ideal Home
Lucky and Piper need a loving home that will keep them together. A securely fenced yard is essential for Lucky due to his prey drive. He needs a home without cats, birds, or small animals. Piper is friendly with cats, children, and other dogs, but Lucky's needs will dictate the best environment for both. They would do best with a patient, experienced guardian for Lucky, ideally a woman or a female-led household, as he has warmed to women more naturally.
Ongoing Health
Both boys are microchipped, up-to-date on parasite prevention, and scheduled for routine veterinary care. Lucky requires daily medication to manage anxiety during severe weather and fireworks.
Training & Support
Lucky knows several commands and responds well to positive reinforcement. He needs a guardian who understands he needs to come to them, not the other way around.
