About Smiley Wiley The Hugging Smile Machine

Smiley Wiley is a special and amazing boy looking for his forever home! He's a handsome, fluffy German Shepherd mix, about 1 year old and weighing 65 lbs. Wiley is athletic, loyal, and ready for any adventure you can dream up, then happy to relax by your side. He's the kind of dog who naturally looks like he belongs right next to you. Prepare to be amazed by his signature "bear hugs" – he truly gives the best hugs, guaranteed to brighten any day!

Ideal Home

Wiley would thrive in a home with someone experienced with German Shepherds who understands their loyal and spirited nature. He enjoys playing with other dogs, especially confident and playful female companions who also appreciate calm moments. While he's been good with younger children, he tends to prefer the company of older kids (15 and up) who can better understand and respect his need for space. A home with a big backyard would be perfect for him to stretch his legs and enjoy the sunshine. He is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Wiley is a rescue and his breed mix is based on appearance and behavior; breed cannot be guaranteed.

Training & Support

Wiley responds incredibly well to confident leadership and structure. He's a smart boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and wait, and is highly treat-motivated. He also makes great eye contact and loves to please, making him a joy to train further. He can be a little nervous in new situations, so a confident resident dog will help boost his confidence. He seems to understand that active play is best enjoyed outdoors and is content to relax with a toy indoors.
