About Koda Bear Hug

Koda is the kind of dog who believes that if you're sitting down, there is probably room for him too. This affectionate, happy-hearted boy is equal parts adventure buddy and oversized cuddle bug, always ready for a park day, a car ride, or an evening spent snuggled right in the middle of the people he loves most. Estimated to be around 1 year and 2 months old and weighing approximately 53 pounds, Koda is a rescue, so his breed and exact age are our best guess. What we know for certain is that he is a loving, people-oriented dog with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no concept of personal space when cuddles are available. He has earned rave reviews in his foster home for being a wonderful house dog, and is house trained, crate trained, and comfortably spends the workday relaxing quietly in his crate. His foster believes he would absolutely love a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy more outdoor adventures. Koda loves giving kisses, loves being close to his people, and loves making sure nobody feels left out of cuddle time. At bedtime, his favorite move is squeezing himself directly into the middle of the family so everyone can participate in the snuggle session. He is also a big fan of fun, enjoying trips to the park, car rides, and playing with all sorts of toys. Koda is friendly and excited when meeting new people, greeting them with a wagging tail and genuine enthusiasm. He has been described as affectionate and gentle with children, and like with adults, he would very much prefer to be included in any cuddle piles.

Ideal Home

Koda's ideal family will appreciate his enthusiasm for life and continue helping him polish a few of his manners, as he is still growing out of the puppy days. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. While he has lived successfully in an apartment setting, a yard would allow him to truly stretch his legs and enjoy outdoor adventures. Koda lives with cats and another dog in his foster home, and with supervision, he does best with confident, dog-savvy feline friends and tolerant, playful dogs who won't mind reminding him about personal space.
