Blitzen

Blitzen is a super sweet cuddle bug who doesn't quite realize his own size and loves to get right on your lap for some love. He was saved from a horrendous situation where he and his brother, Donner, were abandoned by their owner for a very long time with no food or water. Sadly, their third sibling did not survive. Blitzen and Donner were in the shelter from 11/2/23 - 12/11/23 while cruelty charges were placed and investigated. Even after what these dogs went through, they are some of the sweetest dogs we've ever had in our rescue. Blitzen is highly motivated by food and has learned the "sit" command. He loves to chew on things and has been enjoying chew bones. He rides in the car well and loves looking out the window. He's a very excited dog and happy to just be around people and pups, and he loves to cuddle, get affection, belly rubs, and head scratches. He is very affectionate and wants love and to belong.

Ideal Home

Blitzen would thrive in a home where he can receive plenty of affection and attention. He has shown some food aggression, so his new family should be mindful of this, especially if there are other dogs in the home.

Ongoing Health

No specific ongoing health conditions are noted, but a slow feeder may be a good investment for his future owner.

Training & Support

Blitzen is still learning boundaries and is working on not jumping up on people. He is a puller on leash, but with consistent training, he is expected to walk gently. He is motivated by food, which will be a great asset in his training. He loves Kong toys and bounces them around the house during his "zoomie" mode.
