About Hershey
Meet Hershey, a 3.5-year-old, 42-pound spayed female Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix with a heart as sweet as her name! She was found wandering the streets of Houston until her amazing foster stepped in and gave her a safe place to land. Since then, shes blossomed into a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion whos ready for a forever home of her own. This low-rider cuddle bug absolutely adores her people—she's happiest when she's curled up next to you on the couch or following you from room to room. She's the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her humans and thrives in a home where she can be part of the family's daily life. Hershey is fully housebroken and does well in her crate. She's great on a leash, walks calmly, and loves getting out to sniff and explore the neighborhood. While she may be short in stature, she carries herself with confidence and will let you know if someone's at the door—her little bark is all part of her charm! She's playful, curious, and loves a good case of the zoomies, especially in a yard where she can run off some energy. While she's generally mellow indoors, she enjoys regular walks, sniff sessions, and time outside. Hershey has had a positive experience with children, including a gentle 9-year-old boy, and her affectionate nature makes her a great match for a home with respectful kids. She's also made great progress with other dogs—she has a bouncy play style and may put her front paws on another dog to initiate play. We don't have any history with cats, so slow, supervised introductions or a cat-free home would be best for now. Hershey is looking for a stable, loving home where she can continue to thrive, feel safe, and be someone's loyal sidekick. She's full of love, personality, and wiggles, and she's more than ready to trade in her foster couch for a permanent one.
Ideal Home
A stable, loving home where she can feel safe and be part of the family. Hershey is looking for someone to be her loyal sidekick. She would do best as the only pet, or with a calm, tolerant dog who won't mind her enthusiastic approach to play. A home environment that is calm and secure during loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms is important. A cat-free home or one that will allow for slow, supervised introductions to cats is also ideal.
Ongoing Health
Hershey is a spayed female and is up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Hershey is fully housebroken and crate trained. She is great on a leash and walks calmly. She can be a bit enthusiastic with other dogs and may need continued guidance on her play style.
