Vanna

Meet Vanna, a wonderful approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! She's a playful and affectionate "velcro dog" who thrives on being close to her people. Once Vanna bonds with you, she'll be your constant shadow, ready for relaxing at home or embarking on new adventures. She has medium energy and loves a good game of fetch and going for walks, making her a fantastic companion for an active lifestyle. Vanna is a car enthusiast and enjoys outings, and she's trusted to roam freely at home, content to just be near her favorite humans.

Ideal Home

Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and companionship. She is best suited as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard. She's not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash, so continued leash work and training will be important. Vanna is reserved with strangers but warms up to be friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Vanna has experienced significant trauma and is actively working through some challenges. She has resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.

Training & Support

Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has a lot of potential to continue growing and learning.

Transporation

Vanna is located with her foster family and can be transported once approved. Transports run every few weeks. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
