Meet Ms. Jules! This stunning 8-year-old lady is looking for her loving forever home for her golden years. Jules was adopted from us four years ago, but her challenges with other dogs have intensified, especially after a past incident where another dog came after her. Now, she can be defensive during walks when encountering other dogs.
Jules is incredibly loving and affectionate, never barks, and is fully house-trained. She enjoys attention, treats, and car rides, making her a delightful companion. However, she does face some challenges. Overly energetic and loud kids can make her anxious, and she's uncomfortable in environments with other pets, which means she’s more of a homebody. Car rides are fine, but she prefers to avoid places with other dogs. Grooming can be tricky too; she dislikes having her nails trimmed and can be difficult to bathe.
Ideal Home
Jules would thrive in a quieter environment, ideally with older teens or no kids at all, and no other pets. A fenced-in yard would be perfect for her to enjoy outdoor time safely, or someone with a backyard they can take her out on a leash. She doesn't need a lot of exercise at this stage of her life - just lots of love!
Ongoing Health
Jules is available through our Forever Foster program! This means we can place her with an approved applicant as a member of their family at no cost, and we will cover all her vetting (regular, emergency, preventatives, vaccines) for life, as well as extra supports like transportation to appointments and "boarding" if needed for vacations, for life! Ask for more details.
Her adoption fee includes all vetting to age, spay/neuter, and microchip. We also provide a rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption includes lifetime support of the rescue.
Training & Support
While Jules is fully house-trained, housetraining with rescues can sometimes be a work in progress and there may be an adjustment period. We highly recommend a 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results.
