Meet Rainer! This handsome 3-year-old Blue Heeler is a resilient soul looking for a second chance at a happy life. Rainer came to us as a stray after a difficult accident that resulted in the amputation of one of his legs. Despite this, he has been neutered, completed heartworm treatment, and made a full recovery from his surgery. Throughout his journey, Rainer has shown an incredible capacity for sweetness and an eagerness to connect.

Ideal Home

Rainer is a dog who thrives on mental stimulation and connection with his people. He is social with other dogs and does best with canine companions who understand and respect his boundaries. He is struggling in the shelter environment, as high-energy working breeds like Heelers need engagement and activity. Rainer deserves a loving home with a comfortable couch, a predictable routine, and a dedicated person to call his own.

Rainer has successfully undergone heartworm treatment and is neutered. He is a tripod, meaning he has three legs, but he adapts remarkably well and often doesn't even seem to realize he's missing a limb.
