Lucy is a 5-year-old, 31 lb Australian Cattle Dog who has blossomed since coming into our care. She was living on a chain, but her previous owner allowed us to spay her, and thankfully, we were able to give her a new lease on life. Now in a foster home with 8 other dogs, Lucy is learning what it's like to be loved and included. She's a cute, smaller-sized Blue Heeler who is loyal, observant, smart, and can be a little bossy with some dogs. Overall, she's pretty mellow and easy-going, a true champion at fetch, and ignores cats. She is potty trained, crate trained (though she prefers to be near you!), and leash trained. Lucy loves affection but isn't needy. She's playful with most dogs, though she might nibble the heels of dogs she doesn't mesh with—very Heeler of her! She's a bit peculiar around small dogs, but walks nicely in public and rides great in the car. Lucy is microchipped, spayed, healthy, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventions. She can be timid with new people and needs a little time to warm up. Typical Heeler behaviors include supervising everyone, following her people from room to room, and giving dramatic side-eye when judging your life choices.
