Leon

Leon is a loving, intelligent, and playful mixed breed with a heart full of joy! At approximately 1 year old and weighing around 30 lbs, this energetic boy is a delightful companion who thrives on affection and playtime. He was rescued in March 2024, along with his siblings, from a field in Saltillo, Mexico. Leon is social with everyone, including children and other dogs, and enjoys walks, runs, and cuddles. He can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but a little bit of affection quickly melts his heart, and he'll be melting in your arms in no time! He is also dog and cat friendly. Leon is a truly joyful and funny pup who will bring endless smiles to his forever family.

Ideal Home

Leon would thrive in a home with active families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. He needs a family with an open conscience regarding the needs of rescued animals, a background in dog behavior and training, and a high tolerance and patience for rescued pups. Please note that Leon is not house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Leon has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test. He is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Leon is crate and leash trained. However, it's important to understand that he is not house-trained. As a rescued animal, he will need continued patience, education, and consistent training to help him adjust and learn.

Transportation

Leon is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to your home address on the East Coast is available for an additional fee.
