Patch is a young, sable and buff mixed breed, weighing around 19.4kg. He's a friendly and playful boy who is always ready for fun! Patch is a total foodie and a toy enthusiast, loving anything from stuffed animals to Kongs. While he's still figuring out the world and building his confidence, he can become a bit mouthy and bouncy when feeling unsure. He may also bark at new people or unfamiliar things, but he shows appeasing behaviors and is trying his best. Patch can be a bit sensitive to handling, especially around his collar, and will need gentle, positive guidance. He has shown some mild food guarding, which he is working on. He is also still working on housetraining and will need support and consistency in his new home. Patch came to us when his previous owner could no longer care for him.
Ideal Home
Patch is looking for a home with experienced adopters who have knowledge of guardian, herding, or similar breeds. His ideal home would be a townhouse or detached home (no apartments or condos) where everyone is 14 years or older, or slightly younger with experienced, dog-savvy families able to manage behaviors. He would do best as the only dog in the home to focus on his confidence and behavior development. He should not be in a home with cats due to his high prey drive. A structured environment with clear boundaries and patience is essential.
